The Autism Resource Center of Arkansas is dedicated to serving children and young adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), including Asperger's Syndrome and Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD). It is our mission to empower children and families with information and training to maximize the quality of life and developmental potential of affected individuals.
The prevalence of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder is increasing at an alarming rage. Currently 1 in 145 children in Arkansas are affected. Our goal is to help individuals touched by ASD achieve true quality of life, and to offer comprehensive support and services for Arkansas families impacted by ASD.
Our vision is to provide:
-
A central location for parents to receive consultations, by phone or in person, to address concerns and to receive information regarding resources, services, and contacts.
-
Comprehensive, up-to-date information on autism topics including scientific research and biomedical treatments
-
Quality programs to enhance social/emotional development
-
Support groups for parents and siblings.
-
Occupational, speech, and physical therapy services, available through Pediatrics Plus Therapy Services.
-
An increased public understanding and awareness of ASD in Arkansas
-
Information about important legislative issues.

"The future of a huge population of children is hanging in the balance. There are treatment options available that can make the difference, but only if we take action. These children are depending on us."
